Hebbia

What it does
Hebbia analyzes large document sets for institutional finance. Law firms use the same workspace for transaction work. You load a data room or a contract set. Matrix runs one set of questions across that corpus and returns a grid: a company, contract, or security on each row, and a source link on each cell. Max takes a plain-language request and drafts spreadsheets, slides, memos, and models. Vendor-named inputs include public filings, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, PitchBook, and Preqin, plus SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Box, Dropbox, Egnyte, IntraLinks, Salesforce, DealCloud, and Snowflake. Named legal jobs are buy-side and sell-side diligence, credit-agreement review, capital-markets precedent, fund documents, and redline comparison. Matrix can carry a workflow through to a memo or model, but the vendor keeps a person in the loop with a checkpoint before the next step. It is not Westlaw or Lexis, not a litigation review platform, and not a practice-management or billing system. A lawyer still checks the cites.
Fit
Deal teams at funds and banks, and the corporate lawyers who work those transactions, when the question is the same extraction across hundreds of VDR files, credit agreements, or filings and the answer has to trace to a source line. A fit when IntraLinks, SharePoint, or Box is already the room and the buyer will take an enterprise demo instead of a published price.
Not a fit
Skip it if you need a case-law corpus such as Westlaw, Lexis, or Fastcase, a litigation review desk, or a practice system with intake and billing. Legal on the vendor site is transaction advisory, not plaintiff work-up and not small-firm operations. No published price; packaging is demo-only, confirm with Hebbia. Private-equity operators on separate threads report the seat is expensive relative to value. A Matrix grid is not a substitute for the lawyer or analyst who still has to sign off on the cites.
Audience / pricing
Funds, banks, and corporate lawyers on transactions. No public price; demo only (confirm with Hebbia).
