- What it does
- Alexi is a law-firm AI engine for research memos, first-pass drafts, and document analysis. You ask a legal question or run a workflow; it retrieves cited US and Canadian authorities plus firm materials, then returns a memo, draft, or comparison table. The vendor's own example is a share-purchase agreement reviewed into a side-by-side of substantive differences. Agents and Workflow Automations run pre-built templates or no-code firm workflows for intake, due diligence, and memo production. Active Learning applies approved decisions, playbooks, and prior work so later output tracks firm standards. Firms start on Alexi Core; Alexi Advanced adds a single-tenant Private Environment. Vendor-named connectors are iManage, NetDocuments, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Outlook. It is not Westlaw or LexisNexis, not a practice-management or billing system, and it does not replace your DMS. Cited outputs are first drafts a lawyer still reviews.
- Fit
- Mid-size and large North American firms (vendor range is about 50 to 500-plus lawyers) and in-house legal teams that want research and drafting shaped by their own precedent. A fit when iManage or NetDocuments is already the DMS and a KM or innovation owner can run SSO, SOC 2 review, and an optional private cloud.
- Not a fit
- Solos and small shops that need a published price or Westlaw or Lexis as the research corpus. No intake, billing, or case pipeline, and no Clio write-back. Skip it if you practice primarily outside US and Canadian law, or you want a shared multi-tenant chat tab with no deployment conversation. Private single-tenant isolation is the Advanced option, not Core. The site does not list a price; packaging is by firm size and deployment mode, confirm with Alexi.
