- What it does
- Everlaw is cloud-native e-discovery and litigation software on AWS. You ingest ESI into a hosted matter database — vendor-stated 194 native file types, plus cloud connectors for Microsoft 365, Zoom, and Google Workspace — then search, code, produce, and prepare for trial against that corpus, not against Westlaw, Lexis, or a practice-management system. Deep Dive answers natural-language questions with citations into the documents. Coding Suggestions and Predictive Coding assist first-pass review; Clustering groups related documents. Storybuilder covers fact management, timelines, and deposition designations. Legal Holds tracks custodians and notices. Everlaw Archive stores inactive data. Government work can sit on FedRAMP Moderate or GovRAMP hosting. Pricing is quote-only on hosted gigabytes with unlimited user licenses; Deep Dive, bulk Coding Suggestions, translation, and custom extractions consume credits (confirm on Everlaw). Reviewers still verify cites and coding. Not on-prem Relativity, and not Clio write-back.
- Fit
- Litigation, investigations, and government e-discovery teams at mid-size to Am Law firms, corporations, and agencies running document-heavy matters, including FOIA and public-records work, who want a lawyer-facing cloud review database rather than Relativity-class on-prem customization. Fits shops that will connect Harvey, CoCounsel, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or Legora to the evidence layer, or that need FedRAMP or GovRAMP.
- Not a fit
- Owner-led PI, transactional, intake, or practice-management shops. Skip if your matters stay small: there is no published per-seat SKU, and quote-only hosted-GB plus AI credits do not fit occasional files. Teams that need Relativity App Hub customization or on-prem should look elsewhere. Deep Dive is not a published-law research product; you still QC coding suggestions and citations. Public-records intake and case management is an add-on, not the core platform.
